Day training is a structured program in which your dog works directly with a trainer during the day and returns home at night. This program is designed to build real-world skills through consistency, repetition, and structured exposure in different environments.
It’s ideal for owners who want professional training progress without needing to attend every session.
Dogs who:
Need more consistency than once-a-week lessons can provide
Struggle with leash manners, focus, or impulse control
Need more structured exposure to real-world environments
Have behavior issues that improve with repetition and routine
Are high-energy and benefit from structured outlets
Would benefit from professional training during the week
Owners who:
Have busy schedules and can’t commit to daily training practice
Want professional handling and progress built into their dog’s daily routine
Feel stuck or overwhelmed trying to train on their own
Want faster, more consistent results than weekly lessons alone can provide
Want their dog actively trained by a professional during the week instead of only at home
Each day includes structured training designed around your dog’s needs and goals.
Typical structure includes:
Up to 90 minutes of focused training broken up throughout the day
Structured leash walks (approximately 30 minutes)
Obedience practice and real-world skill building
Structured downtime for balance and recovery
One weekly outing for trainings of 3 days or more (parks, stores, trails, or public environments)
Training is adjusted based on your dog’s behavior, progress, and confidence level.
Day Training is offered in different package structures so we can match your dog’s needs, your schedule, and your training goals.
Basic Day Training
Best for dogs learning foundational skills, household manners, and basic obedience. This is ideal for dogs that need structure, consistency, and everyday behavior improvement.
Specialty Day Training
Specialty Day Training is specifically for dogs with more serious behavioral concerns. This includes behavior modification cases such as aggression, severe anxiety, reactivity toward people or other dogs, and other significant behavioral challenges that require a more structured and specialized approach.
Add-Ons & Extras
Exercise Sessions
Exercise sessions are structured activity time to help your dog burn energy, stay balanced, and be more focused during training. These sessions support better behavior and improve a dog’s ability to settle and engage. They can also be a helpful option for busy owners who want to ensure their dog gets regular exercise during the week.
Real-World Outings
Real-world outings take training outside of the home and into controlled public environments. These sessions are used to build neutrality, confidence, and reliable behavior in everyday situations such as parks, pet-friendly stores, or other structured exposure settings. This helps dogs generalize their training beyond the home and facility environment.

Reach out with your dog’s information, behavior concerns, and training goals. This can be done through the inquiry form, email, call, or text.
An in-home or on-location evaluation is required before starting Day Training. This allows us to assess your dog, discuss goals, and determine the best training plan.
Note: The evaluation may be skipped if your dog is currently enrolled in another True Paws training program, as an existing behavior and training history is already established.
After the evaluation, you’ll be guided into the appropriate Day Training program based on your dog’s needs, behavior, and your goals. This ensures the training plan is structured and effective from day one.
Once your program is selected, training begins. Your dog will start structured sessions focused on obedience, behavior development, and real-world application while you are away.
