Training is conducted across several areas of the home environment to create variety, structure, and real-life application.
Backyard: Used for leash work, obedience, recall, and controlled outdoor distractions
Deck: A transitional space for focus work, neutrality, and environmental exposure
Garage: A controlled indoor-outdoor space used for structured drills and behavior work
Basement Training Area: A dedicated indoor training space designed for obedience, skill building, and focused work without outside distractions
Each space is used based on the dog’s training stage and goals for that session.
Using multiple controlled environments allows dogs to:
Generalize behavior across different settings
Build focus in both low and moderate distraction areas
Progress from structured learning to real-world application
Learn consistency regardless of environment changes
The goal is to avoid “location-dependent training” and build reliable behavior anywhere.
